Tired of having back pain? Neck pain? Headaches? So is half of the American population at any given time. Our forte is fixing these very problems. Our methods are usually much quicker and less expensive than the alternatives, and they tend to make a lasting change. Most of the alternatives are just drugs, which on the best of days only cover up a problem temporarily. On the worst of days they don’t work much and cause interesting new problems.
Although most back issues are simple disorders of joints and muscles, the wiring of our bodies passes through the mechanical structures involved. This can make for some fairly complicated consequences to leaving back and neck problems unsolved, or covered up.
One of the unique things about chiropractic care is the use of manipulation to adjust the spine. This is only one of the tools we use, but it is used frequently to correct a malfunctioning back. This can be done manually with the doctor’s hands, or using an assortment of different methods ranging from very light, precise instrument techniques to more aggressive stretching. Ultimately these procedures are very safe when performed by an expert…certainly much safer than most of the medical and dental procedures we take for granted.
A common fear patients express is that once they have been treated by a chiropractor they will be stuck with the need for treatment indefinitely. Our plan is always to completely solve your back problems if possible. This is usually a reasonable goal depending on the stresses and strains of your everyday life, and the collection of injuries you have sustained. On the other hand, periodic ‘tune ups’ can be helpful. After all, you don’t just change your car’s oil once, or eat one healthy meal that’s supposed to last for your entire life.
Back and neck problems are often caused by poor posture, repetitive overuse, or old injuries that eventually catch up with you. Our clinic offers a variety of resources to address these issues, from specialized physical therapy and massage to general exercise and nutrition classes. These are some of the many ways we try to keep you in optimal shape.
Most of the conditions we treat start mysteriously, although there is always a reason. Sometimes the cause lies outside the spine, like a worn out knee or a sore shoulder. These distant conditions often lead to back and neck problems when you favor a painful region. As a result we treat a variety of additional areas that you might not expect. There’s no point in leaving the cause unsolved.
We accept a variety of different insurance plans, but you should check to see whether this really saves you anything. Many times the combination of deductibles and copay makes your insurance a more expensive route than discounted cash prices. Ask our office staff to help you sort this out.
Chiropractors are primary care physicians, so you don’t have to be sent to us by another type of provider.
If you’re not sure which way to go, call and talk with one of our doctors, or make an appointment for a consultation.
